Program Overview
Designed for future social-studies teachers (grades 6-12) in Christian, private, or charter schools—and for graduates pursuing Florida’s alternative-certification route—this degree pairs deep historical content with 30 credits of professional education and fieldwork. You’ll study U.S. and world history, civics, geography, economics, world religions, and teaching methods, then complete a 10-week classroom internship under a certified mentor teacher. (The program itself does not grant Florida certification but positions graduates to earn it through district new-teacher or alt-cert pathways.)
